May 26- Last Day of School; Awards Assembly at 11:00 with 12:00 dismissal.

June 3- Big Dam River Run- 8:00 am

June 5-23- Summer School -8:15 am to 12:15 pm

August 10- Madonna School Open House 5:00-6:00 pm

August 14- First Day of School for 2017-2018!

Home and School- is in need ofa family to take over the Walk- A – Thon from the Yetters! It will be held on September 22, 2017. Please contact Mary Ritchie or the school front office if you can take over this event! They are also still in need of officers for the 2017-2018 school year. They need a president(which fulfills 8 of the 10 volunteer hours) and a secretary and a treasurer (both of which fulfills 7 out of the 10 volunteer hours). If you are interested in being an officer please contact Mary Ritchie at marywagritchie@gmail.com.

 

 

 

Medicine- if your student is in elementary to transition- please pick up any medicines on the last day of school. We are not allowed to keep them in school during the summer. Letters from the visiting nurse were sent home last week.

Awards Assembly- will be Friday, May 26th at 11:00 am. Parents are welcome to attend and then can take their children home due to a noon dismissal!

 

Yearbooks- you may still order a 2016-2017 yearbook (without a personal page) until Friday May 26th. Please contact Diane Hancock at dhancock@madonnaschool.org if you need an order form. Yearbooks are $20.00 and will be distributed at Summer School or may be picked up in the front office later this summer between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. If there are extra yearbooks you can purchase one at the August 10th Open House!

 

Registration Folders - for 2017-2018 have gone home with everyone in  a red folder! Please fill out the paperwork and return to the front office by May 26th! Included in the folder is a uniform order form from Educational Outfitters. If you wish to order uniform tops- please fill out the form and return it with payment to the front office by May 26th. In mid-August we will send home another order form for spirit wear andanother uniform order form. These will be delivered end of September!

 

Uniforms- uniform order forms and the dress code went home in the red folders. If you would like to order uniform shirts with an August 10th delivery date- please turn in your order to front office by May 26th. We are using Educational Outfitters again this Spring! Shirt colors that may be worn are Madonna blue, white, gray or black. You may order shirts from Educational Outfitters (Madonna logo on them) or purchase the shirts at the store of your preference. A parent has found $5.00 polo shirts at Walmart in the colors listed above!

 

Summer School- for those who signed up, Summer School begins June 5thand runs through June 23rd. The daily hours are 8:15-12:15. Lunch is not served. Those who signed up for after care need to be picked up by 1:00 and bring a sack lunch! See you then!

 

  Back to School Open House -will be August 10th, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.  Come to school, visit your classroom, meet your teacher and see your friends. Cookies and punch will be served! If you ordered uniforms in May, you may pick them up at the Open House. See you there!  

 

 Big Dam River Run-Saturday, June 3rd, is the annual Big Dam River Run, a motorcycle event starting in our Madonna parking lot at 8 AM and heading up to the Gavin’s Point Dam on the Nebraska-South Dakota border. Details are here: http://www.bigdamriverrun.com/.  The morning of the ride, the collection of 100 gleaming Harleys up and down the Madonna parking lot is a sight to behold! And the riders are delighted to meet Madonna students. Please bring your student to meet the riders and see the bikes – and tell the bikers thanks!

 

Fireworks- Madonna has again received a fireworks license from the City of Omaha. The license helps us raise about $7,500 per year! The folks at Bellino Fireworks collaborate with us, and they tell us we’ll likely have the same location for our tent as the past couple years: 17801 Pierce Plaza, not far from the Hy-Vee at 180th and Pacific. Be sure to support our fireworks tent during the days leading up to July 4th!
